My painting emerges from an experience of connection and belonging. I am Brazilian and have lived in Australia for almost twenty years, and nature has always been my emotional anchor. While painting this landscape, I experienced a sense of home, not tied to a specific place, but to a feeling of presence and grounding. The scene was painted from a photograph taken in Ikara–Flinders Ranges National Park, South Australia. The flowing water represents continuity and personal journey, while the rooted trees symbolize memory, stability, and identity. The work reflects nature as a space of peace, reflection, and belonging, highlighting Australia’s breathtaking landscape.
