Hormosira banksii is a common seaweed found in rockpools and rock platforms along the coast. The beads are often covered with a slimy layer, reducing dehydration. When eaten raw they are crunchy and have a briny flavour. They can be pickled. Found NSW, QLD, TAS, SA, VIC, WA.
