Brachychiton acerifolius produces bright red flowers followed by large leathery seed pods. Aboriginal people ate the seeds. The bark was used to make nets and fishing lines. It was peeled off the tree and bruised by beating, which would tease apart the fibres for weaving into lengths. Found in NSW.
