Themeda triandra is a densely tufted perennial. The grass was highly valued by the Aboriginal people who harvested its protein rich grain for bread making and porridge. The roots and seeds had medicinal properties. The leaves and stems were used to make string and fishing nets. Found in all states of Australia.
