Beginning my journey to paint the Bush Capital and its creatures, I soon found that wildlife is shy, so why not paint from a bird hide, beside the bike path? The problem with painting in a bird hide is it's dark inside. Painting blind, juggling binoculars, paintbrush and palette, I attempt to capture the Australasian grebe, pacific black ducks and a special treat - a shovel nosed duck, sleeping.
