acrylic on canvas
920mm high
570mm wide
36mm deep
Created in collaboration with children from Blue Gum School at Majura Dam this painting features a local First Nations peoples' symbol of Collaboration: the native cherry tree. Strikingly different to other plants in this box gum grassy woodland (an endangered habitat) the native cherry offers a number of vital habitat services: including shade and tucker. Emphasised the purple to express my feelings about overcoming my fear of painting on canvas.
Please note, this artwork is currently on exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre and will not be available for pick-up or delivery until the exhibition has closed. Please check the Belco Arts website for exhibition dates.
