Even just listening to the birds and frogs in this place, Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve, is therapeutic. A pair of Australasian Grebes dash to check on what is possibly a nest stashed in the reed bed. When the Grebes reaches the reed bed it stops to groom as though to say 'nothing to see here'. This sanctuary, Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve, is fenced to keep foxes and cats out and the birds and animals flourish. Combined with Cat containment public policy across the Capital, such projects bring new hope. The animals here are clearly more relaxed and so, it seems to me, are the people passing by. A range of species have been returned from extinction (on the mainland) in this Reserve. I'm so excited about all this, that I may have exaggerated some of the colours.
