Synthetic Polymer and Posca Pen on Canvas Board

Late on an autumn afternoon, I stood at the lookout in South Gundagai looking across the flood plain at the old country town. As the shadows lengthened, it felt to me like it was slowly receding into the hillside, its buildings becoming indistinct apart from brief glimpses here and there of its stately architecture. It seemed to symbolise the gradual decline of a town whose glory days are passing out of living memory, and perhaps one day there'll be no town, just the hillside above the plain.
