MEET THE MAKER 

In 1985, Gabrielle Powell completed BA Visual Art and established a studio with her partner Daniel Lafferty. Their shared studio space is Bandicoot Pottery on the outskirts of Cobargo. She makes small editions of earthenware wares using slump moulds with brightly painted and sgraffito decorations. Inspired by tribal art and design, transforming her pots with colour. Bandicoot Pottery runs ceramics classes for children and adults and we host an open studio twice a year. Powell is a teacher, potter and basket maker, specialising in community arts events. My works are mainly moulded and hand built with brightly coloured funky designs. Decorating ceramics and textiles are my loves. ​
