MEET THE MAKER

Appropriating natural forms in an attempt to highlight the beauty of the hidden and unassuming, Holly O’Meehan explores the natural vegetation found with in unique landscapes. The resulting sculptural objects have a whimsical, creature-like presence; their playful and defensive structures seem to repel and beguile us in equal measure. Holly O’Meehan is currently based in Boorloo/Perth, and has developed her artistic practice through a double Bachelor in Fine Arts and Art & Design at Curtin University, a number of group exhibitions, national art prizes and several significant solo exhibitions, most recently Defence/Defiance at Goolugatup Heathcote in 2021.
