Murano glass, silver, seed beads, glass necklace

A Murano glass pendant was the basis for a design statement on our oceans. Tiny glass beads inside the bubbles look like microplastics. Microplastics harm plankton, which produce over half our oxygen. They disrupt plankton growth and photosynthesis, reducing oxygen output. Marine life ingests plastics; the food chain weakens. Fewer healthy plankton mean less CO2 is absorbed and less oxygen is made, affecting Earth’s breathable air.
