Alexander Thatcher is a Canberran ceramic artist, sculptor and tableware maker. He has been writing, creating art and playing with mud for as long as he can remember. Over the years, he has worked with many mediums, including charcoal, ink, acrylic, watercolour, but his favourite is clay.

He started his ceramic journey in a small, unassuming room at his high school on the south coast. While studying to become a graphic designer, he attended evening ceramics courses. Over the years, he has since learned from renowned potters like Trudie Alfred, Cameron Williams, Peter Rushforth and Greg Daly.
