Michelle is originally from Ireland and has called Australia home for over 30 years. She is a knitwear and crochet artist creating one-off, slow-made textile pieces under the brand MicMacDesign. Each piece is designed and made by hand, embracing the time, care and attention that her craft demands. Designs are never repeated.

Working stitch by stitch, Michelle focuses on unique forms, texture and materiality – allowing each piece to develop organically. The practice values process over speed and individuality over perfection. Rooted in slow fashion, the work is meant to be worn, used and kept, carrying both presence and purpose.
