Ruth Allen’s artistic vision was shaped by her formative years in Aotearoa/New Zealand, where she developed a deep understanding of nature's elemental forces. Her work in glass art explores gravity, light, and movement, informed by her studies at the Canberra School of Art and Monash University. As a former President of the New Zealand Society of Artists in Glass, Ruth championed the field through workshops and international conferences. Now based in Coburg North, Melbourne, she leads a studio that fosters creativity and mentorship, functioning as a Glass Epicentre. Ruth’s work, showcased globally and honored with prestigious awards, reflects her profound dialogue with the material and dedication to the craft.
