Oval — a quarter sphere, cut through by a hole that's round until it isn't. The round hole resolves into an oval when you look straight through it — an optical shift I didn't fully anticipate until I was carving it myself. Design surprises like this are a joy to discover and keep me curious. Catch it from certain angles and it glances back at you. The form is more balanced than it first appears, which is why it holds its stance so quietly.
