MEET THE MAKER

Tian You (born 1985) is a studio potter, diver and mad nature lover.

Tian was born and grew up in Kunming, a southwest city in China. In 2009 she moved to Melbourne. In 2014 clay blended into her stream of life. She welcomes the influences from her genetic and cultural up bringing gratefully. Her tight bond to oriental arts and its wisdom from nature, channels her work though her mind and body. 

Using porcelain with exceptional studio glazes, Tian composes with form, painting and texture. This is the pathway she travels to conjure the scenery and emotions of her Shangri-la.
