Ferns grew on Earth long before the first flowers, and Prehistoric Forest leans into that ancient feel. Fronds of bracken fern (Pteridium esculentum) overlap in deep teal with a hint of violet. I collected them on my conservation property in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, after years working as a CSIRO conservation ecologist.
