This artwork is part of my tree series, depicting a tree with houses built into it. The green leaves of the tree are offset by squares of colour and small flowers. There is a blue river and small green mountains in the background. The blue sky is filled with yellow stars and the moon. Now I invite children to imagine what it would be like to live in a house in a tree, to look out the window from your bed and see the night sky. You could almost touch the moon and stars with your fingertips. As you fall asleep the sound of beating wings will soothe you, signalling a family of bats looking for fruit. When you are tucked up in bed you might see the tooth fairy coming by to collect any teeth that you have lost. Now kids, no more tantrums. Sleep tight and good night.
Please note, this artwork is currently on exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre and will not be available for pick-up or delivery until the exhibition has closed. Please check the Belco Arts website for exhibition dates.
