Cat’s Claw Vine was introduced as a garden ornamental around 50 years ago and is now regarded as one of the worst weeds in Australia because of its invasiveness and its ability to smother native vegetation, both over tall trees and as a dense ground cover. It has extensive root systems which produce large tubers making this vine difficult to eradicate. Cat’s Claw Vine is a weed of tropical, sub-tropical and warmer temperate regions of Queensland and north-eastern New South Wales. (framed)
