Hugo Curtis is a second-generation glassblower based between Queanbeyan NSW and Northern Adelaide SA. With a keen interest in the Venetian tradition, both his functional glassware and sculptural artworks intricate lines, known as ‘cane’, a technique that dates back 3500 years. These canes form the basis of his glass patterns, and the objects are designed to maximise the pattern and techniques used. From the age of twelve, Hugo began training in glassblowing and glass carving at his family studio in Queanbeyan. At eighteen, he started expanding his glassmaking at Canberra Glassworks. In 2025 he was accepted as a 2025 associate at the Jam Factory in Adelaide where he now splits his time.
