Overlooking Bogong Creek is the final etching I created for my Namadgi series. It depicts the Gudgenby Valley with a view across Bogong Creek Swamp toward the western ranges, with Yankee Hat rising in the foreground. The work reflects the sensory character of the valley: the gnarled bark of gum trees, the sharp scent of eucalypt leaves on summer days, and the ever present movement of kangaroos across the grasslands. Along the creek lines, axe grinding grooves mark enduring Aboriginal connections to Country, grounding the landscape in deep time.
