Porcelain, recycled hardwood frame
345mm high
220mm wide
50mm deep
Shingleback, shedding pairs an intact porcelain lizard with its shredded, patterned skin, echoing the species’ cyclical renewal. Live lizards and a discarded skin at the nature-based education hub, Wildbark, allowed me to study the lizards’ proportions and patterns, to be carved in lino and re formed in clay. The work traces a rhythm of casting off, healing, and beginning again.
