Porcelain and black clay

Where Emu Treads, Seeds Awaken combines ecological storytelling with an experimental fusion of relief printmaking and ceramic hand building. Its lino embossed porcelain and black clay elements wrap, fold, and curve in ways impossible on a flat sheet, allowing printed marks to become structural. The work reflects the emu’s role as a keystone species whose long distance foraging disperses seeds across fire affected and fragmented landscapes, triggering pulses of regeneration and sustaining plant diversity.
Please note, this artwork is currently on exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre and will not be available for pick-up or delivery until the exhibition has closed. Please check the Belco Arts website for exhibition dates.
