This is my favourite out of a series I painted of a flowering Kurrajong trees, symbol of water. It was painted in an unseasonable heatwave! The bush on Mount Majura was brittle. The Kurrajong tree was poised on the point of senescence, the native cherry symbol of collaboration was emerging, and the painted lady butterflies were attending the delicate flowers...
