"Afloat" is a dynamic fusion of painting and sculpture, blurring the boundaries between two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. This piece features a vibrant acrylic on canvas, encapsulated within a handcrafted timber frame with legs. True to my signature Petals and Worms style, the artwork bursts with intertwining organic shapes—petals symbolising growth and vitality, and worms representing transformation and renewal. The timber frame acts not just as a border but as an integral part of the artwork, elevating it into a presence that stands on its own, alive and evolving in space. The piece invites the viewer to reconsider traditional art forms, questioning where painting ends and sculpture begins. It is both grounded and fluid, structured yet full of movement—an embodiment of the endless cycle of life that my work seeks to celebrate.
