‘How close must one get to hear the mountain whisper?’ came about during an investigation into the notions of near and far. The view of mountains from afar is vastly different to what one sees when one is in the mountains. The symbol of the mountain, to me, has become one of obstacle and that which must be overcome – and it often feels like I have been lost in the mountainside forest for some time. As I wander in this metaphorical landscape, I wonder to myself – what secrets might be uncovered here?
