Anagama bud pod
These handcrafted bud pods are fired in the enormous wood-fuelled Anagama kiln of renowned ceramist Ian Jones at Old Saint Lukes Studio in Gundaroo. The firing involves stoking the kiln for over 120 hours (5 straight days!). Throughout this intensive process natural wood ash settles over the vessels and melts with the extreme heat (over 1300C) to create organic glaze effects and distinctive surface textures unique to every individual piece.
