The Bundian Way is a 365 km Indigenous route between Eden and the Snowy Mountains, used for over 40,000 years. This is not a work about the Way; that story is not mine to tell. It is about settler land ownership, the root of Indigenous dispossession and disadvantage. I photographed bark from spotted, scribbly and snow gums, then combined printed fabric with land registration maps to form quilted trees. Ungrounded, swaying and frayed, they are deliberately unsettling. Quilting, a feminist protest tradition, provides a pathway to greater awareness and introspection.
