This is not a work about the Way; that story is not mine to tell. It is about settler land ownership, the root of Indigenous dispossession and disadvantage.
I photographed bark from spotted, scribbly and snow gums, then combined printed fabric with land registration maps to form quilted trees. Ungrounded, swaying and frayed, they are deliberately unsettling. Quilting, a feminist protest tradition, provides a pathway to greater awareness and introspection.

Please note, this artwork is currently on exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre and will not be available for pick-up or delivery until the exhibition has closed.
