Marigolds, the quintessential flower of India, are woven into moments of celebration, ritual, and new beginnings. In the place I grew up, they marked everything from everyday prayers to life’s most important milestones. When I moved overseas, I did not realise how much I would miss these small, familiar symbols of home. Discovering that marigolds also grow here, in Australia, was a quiet comfort. Planting them in my garden each summer has become a personal ritual... a way of carrying memory across oceans and allowing something from where I come from to take root in where I now live.
