I perform stand-up comedy on the weekends (stage name Hadi Kilman). Comedy allows me to share my opinions honestly, free from the restrictions imposed by an office environment. My jokes are often based on my Lebanese heritage, and the experience of arriving in Australia the child of poor migrants. After living abroad for 14 years, I moved to Canberra in 2023 to find that, generally speaking, little progress has been made in regard to white Australia’s perception of Lebanese communities. I hope to change that, one punch line at a time.
