Recycled silk, lurex, cotton, hair, dandelion, wire
1000mm high
1200mm wide
100mm deep
Weaving, unweaving, always explores continual cycles of everyday transformation through ritualised processes of transforming unremarkable materials. Much loved and worn-to-death items of the artist's own clothing, hair and garden materials are deconstructed, rewoven and deconstructed again in multiple configurations that continue to shift. The work explores how change is often not linear, but a messy and ongoing process, with different phases coexisting in time and space, and any sense of completion is often an illusion.
Please note, this artwork is currently on exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre and will not be available for pick-up or delivery until the exhibition has closed. Please check the Belco Arts website for exhibition dates.
