Inspired by Suzanne Smith's 2020 book The Altar Boys, this triptych (or altarpiece) represents the Church hierarchy (central panel) that maintained a system, culture and structure that failed to protect children. The altar boys are a reference to both the death (often by suicide) of some victims and the survival of others.
Please note, this artwork is currently on exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre and will not be available for pick-up or delivery until the exhibition has closed. Please check the Belco Arts website for exhibition dates.
