Skeleton leaves are not easy to find. They form when the soft tissue of a fallen leaf breaks down and only the network of veins is left. As a former CSIRO conservation ecologist turned artist, I found these and made them into a cyanotype by hand, so every vein shows white against deep blue. This bookmark is a print of that original, on 350gsm recycled card that stays firm in a nature journal, a sketchbook or a novel. The sleeve has space to write a message, so it’s ready to give to a teacher, a gardener or anyone who collects small treasures from the bush.
